This cocktail is traditionally made with American whisky – but don’t sleep on the unique character of a Rum Old Fashioned. Extremely smooth with a hint of spice, the Caribbean rum provides a slight oaky flavour that should appeal even to the whisky purists. The splash of hazelnut liqueur brings everything together like a big, warm hug.

hOw to ServE

step one

Keep your cocktail bottles chilled and prepare a large ice cube, or sphere of ice (if you want it on the rocks).

step two

Pour directly into a whisky glass – don’t shake it! The Old Fashioned is only to be stirred.

step three

Garnish with an orange peel, cherry, or go cowboy if you prefer.
